JMM are binding underwriters for certain syndicates at Lloyd’s of London and can arrange a wide range of Contingency insurances worldwide, all underwritten at Lloyd’s.
Cancellation and Abandonment of Events
Acting on behalf of event organisers, promoters, producers and venues, JMM can arrange comprehensive insurance for cancellation, postponement, curtailment and abandonment of outdoor or indoor events. The cover can include relocation or rescheduling costs.
Event organisers want to focus on the smooth running of their event rather than dealing with the cost of unforeseeable mishaps. JMM’s Event policy will provide comprehensive cover at very reasonable cost for events large and small, from church fete to music festival. Our Event Liability insurance can cover Public Liability for events with large numbers of attendees such as concerts and festivals. In addition, JMM can provide Employers’ Liability insurance which covers volunteers, trainees, and supplied personnel who are involved in the running of the event.
JMM can protect event organisers’ losses if their event cannot proceed due to the non-appearance of one or more specific individuals.
Non-appearance insurance protects those with a financial interest in the appearance of any key person or persons such as entertainers, dignitaries, performers, artists and public speakers at many types of events. Cover can include protection for costs and expenses incurred or loss of profit or gross revenue following the non-appearance of key persons due to unforeseen circumstances.
Event tickets are typically sold on the basis of no refund, no cancellation. Ticket purchasers who cannot attend an event will forfeit the cost of their tickets unless they can resell them. This is very difficult if last-minute illness, accident, inclement weather or transportation delay makes attendance impossible.
JMM has offered ticket reimbursement programmes to venues, event organisers and ticket agents since 1994. Our SecureMyBooking.com programme ensures that customers who cannot attend an event will be reimbursed the full cost of their ticket purchase, including all fees and additional items purchased at the same time as the tickets. JMM ticket cover can also be extended to include costs of the ticket buyer’s transport and accommodation in addition to the ticket price, ensuring that all the customer’s costs for attendance at an individual event are protected. The benefits for JMM’s clients include a free claims service, a new income stream and improved customer service that will help win repeat business.
This insurance is designed for promotions in which participants are offered the chance to win prizes. Instead of keeping cash reserves to cover large prizes, the promoter pays a premium to an insurance company, which then reimburses the insured should a prize be given away, thus keeping prize-related costs and exposure off the promoter’s balance sheet.
Over Redemption Insurance or Fixed Fee Solutions can be used to limit the financial liability associated with a Sales Promotion. Over Redemption Insurance enables companies to fix the budget for a promotion and remove the risk of a huge outlay if it redeems beyond expectations. It is commonly used by retailers, advertising agencies and brand managers to reduce the financial risk of running a marketing or sales promotion.
Contractual Bonus Insurance protects the financial risks associated with bonus payments paid to sports associations, teams and players. Sports associations and clubs will often have performance bonus incentives built into team and player contracts, where bonuses are paid according to results. Sponsors of sports associations, clubs and players may also offer additional bonus payments for achieving a level of success.
JMM can arrange insurance to minimise the risk by taking responsibility for the payment of bonuses in return for an insurance premium, usually a fraction of the cost of the overall exposure.
JMM is now able to provide insurance to cover Sponsors for their exposure and financial loss due to potential scandals involving their brand ambassadors, typically well -known celebrities from sports, leisure and entertainment.
